Who is responsible
EUDACE, družba za svetovanje in razvoj projektov, d.o.o., Dunajska cesta 159, 1000 Ljubljana, Slovenia, is the controller for the data described here. Contact: support@usefulshed.com.
What we process and why
- Your video is opened and processed in your browser. It is never uploaded to us.
- The audio track of the video (converted to low-quality mono sound) is sent to our server and passed to Cloudflare's speech recognition service to create captions. The transcript is sent back to your browser. In the clip maker, the transcript is also passed to an AI language model on Cloudflare (Workers AI) that picks the best moments and writes a title for each; they are sent back to your browser. We do not store the audio, the transcript or the titles. Legal basis: performing the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Usage events, with a random ID created for each visit and not linked to you, such as "page opened", "video loaded", "captions shown", "export made", "checkout started", which buttons were pressed (for example "buy", "style chosen") and whether the pricing section was shown, and which version of the page you saw when we test two versions, technical details of a video you open in a tool (its length, picture size, file type and size, and the spoken language detected, never its name or content), error messages, with the time, page, referring website, campaign tags in the link (utm), country and browser type. We use them to count how the tool is used and to improve it. They contain no name or email and are not linked to your identity. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running and improving the tools (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
- Your IP address, turned into a one-way code that changes every day, to enforce daily limits and prevent abuse. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the service available.
- Purchases: when you pay, we receive from Stripe your email address, the plan, the payment status and Stripe's reference numbers, and we create your access code. In the clip maker we also record, for each access code, how many seconds of video and how many moment searches it used each day and a short code computed from each video file's name, size and date (not its content), so a video you already paid for is not counted twice. We use them to give you access, answer support requests and handle refunds. Card details go only to Stripe and Link; we never see them. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- Support emails you send us, to answer them. An automatic assistant reads each email with Cloudflare's AI service (Workers AI) to send you your access code, a link to confirm a refund or cancellation, or an answer taken from our pages; anything else is forwarded to a person. To find your purchase it compares your sender address with the email addresses of purchases. We keep the sender address, subject and outcome of each email for 180 days, to connect follow-ups and stop automatic reply loops. Legal basis: contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in answering quickly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Stored in your browser
After a purchase, your access code is saved in your browser's local storage so you do not have to enter it again (subtylo.code in Subtylo, clips.code in the clip maker). This is necessary for the service you asked for. During checkout, your captions (Subtylo, subtylo.pending) or the moments and transcript of your video (clip maker, clips.pending) are kept in this tab's session storage so you don't have to start again; they are deleted when you close the tab. We set no cookies.
If you open a tool through a partner's link (one that ends in ?ref= and a code), the partner's code is recorded with your visit and, if you buy during that visit, with your purchase at Stripe, so we can pay the partner a commission. The code names the partner, not you, and nothing is stored on your device for it. It is kept as long as the usage events and purchase records listed below. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in paying partners correctly (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, our database (stored in the EU), speech recognition and reading support emails (Workers AI), and email forwarding. Speech recognition and AI reading of support emails may run in Cloudflare data centers outside the EU; such transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the EU standard contractual clauses.
- Stripe and Link (Stripe and its affiliates): they sell and process payments as the merchant of record and act as independent controllers for payment data. See stripe.com/privacy and link.com/privacy.
We do not sell data and do not share it with advertisers.
How long we keep it
- Audio, transcripts and clip titles: not stored; discarded when the response is sent.
- Daily IP codes: deleted after 7 days.
- Usage events: 24 months.
- Purchase records and access codes: while your access is active and 2 years after it ends.
- Support emails: 2 years after the conversation ends.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data, its correction or deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email support@usefulshed.com; we answer within one month. You can also complain to the Slovenian data protection authority, Informacijski pooblaščenec (ip-rs.si), or to the authority in your country.
Changes
We update this policy when what we process changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
